This is Mia the American Hairless Terrier (AHT), but most people know her as Bean. Mom wanted a family and Dad was allergic, so they worried what that might mean. Mom searched for options, considered adoption, and didn’t know what else to try. But she found a neat breed on her internet feed that was hairless and she wondered why.

So Mom did her research and learned they could meet first, if a family was willing nearby. She picked out the closest and asked for a visit, but never received a reply. Then Mom found a puppy all the way in Kentucky, but still they weren’t sure about Dad. They prayed he would breathe and they wouldn’t have to leave with their hearts on their sleeves, feeling sad. They mapped out the trip and decided to drive to that pretty farm out in Kentucky. And once they arrived, if they kept Dad alive, they could go home and know they’d been lucky.

So they got in the car and they drove really far and they went to the farmhouse to meet her. Mom turned to Dad with the puppy on her heart and said nothing could ever feel sweeter. Dad said he knew all along they would keep her and Mom probably took it for granted. They got back in the car and they drove just as far, to the home where their family was planted.

They grew there together, in every kind of weather, ’til Bean’s heart grew too big to stay. They kissed her goodbye, but they kept her in spirit, and Mom hears her voice every day. And sometimes it’s loss that leaves us with lessons and heartache has something to say. And after her season, Bean showed the real reason – The Family she’d found on her way.

Where We’re Growing…..

Bean’s Family got together and decided it was better if her story didn’t really have to end. Then Mom made Bean’s Talks, and the Family got bigger, and they showed her how broken hearts mend.

They waited for Mom to say she was ready, but set out to find her a “Sprout.” And then this sweet puppy from a Kennel in Kentucky, just showed up and squashed all the doubt.

Mom named her Pia which means second chances and starting all over again. Now, Bean has more stories of blessings and glory, all because of their wonderful Friends. Mom said stay tuned when Sprout comes home in June, and then everyone told her they will. All new adventures are ready and waiting and Sprout has some big shoots to fill. πŸΎπŸ’šπŸŒ±
